Welcome to our July update! We're excited to share new offerings, features, and functional changes delivered this month. We're committed to continuously enhancing the Delphix platform to provide you with the best experience and meet your data management needs. This blog post highlights critical updates across product areas.

Three Key Highlights

New Jenkins Plugin for CI/CD Test Data Automation: Now, you can automate the use of test data as part of your CI/CD runs with our new Jenkins plugin. This official plugin for Data Control Tower joins the existing ServiceNow and Terraform integrations, offering support for provisioning and destroying Virtual Databases (VDBs) to streamline your DevOps workflows.

Introducing the DCT Toolkit: We're excited to launch the DCT Toolkit, a powerful command line interface (CLI) that allows developers and testers to control their data directly from their local toolchain. The DCT Toolkit offers remote operation and control of Data Control Tower via your local terminal, replacing the previously available DxToolkit.

New Documentation Platform: We have moved to a new documentation platform to serve you with our growing portfolio better. While the top-level links remain the same, page-level links may need to be updated if you have stored links or bookmarks. We're continuously updating the content to provide you with the latest information, so stay tuned!

Data Control Tower (DCT)

  • Jenkins Integration: With the official Jenkins plugin for DCT, you can seamlessly automate data usage in your CI/CD pipelines. Provision and destroy VDBs effortlessly to enhance your testing processes.

  • DCT Toolkit: Our newly launched command line toolkit, the DCT Toolkit, offers a convenient way to operate and control Data Control Tower from your local terminal, providing enhanced flexibility and control.

  • Infrastructure Wizard: The create infrastructure flow now supports adding Windows standalone and cluster hosts and Linux cluster hosts. This unified environment creation approach simplifies host connections for all connected Delphix engines.

  • Provisioning Wizard: The data provisioning workflow has been expanded to include additional database types, such as Oracle Single Instance Multi-tenant, Oracle Multiple Instance Single Tenant, and SQL Server Multiple Instance Single Tenant.

Continuous Compliance

  • SQL Server: Continuous Compliance now supports SQL Server 2022.

  • Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse: Azure SQL Data Warehouse is now supported in Continuous Compliance.

  • Updated User Experience: The Roles page has been updated, and several handy templates are now available.

Continuous Data

  • Recovery from Failed VPDB in a Linked CDB: It is now possible to recover from a failed Pluggable Virtual Database with a forced refresh or rewind operation.

  • IBM Db2: Support for RHEL 8.8 has now been certified. (Note: This release was originally published in June.)

  • MongoDB: Additional parameters are now supported in the 'mongodump' and 'mongorestore' commands, allowing for more customized and faster backups and restores, including parallel collections processing.

  • Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS): The dSource configuration is now easier with automatically identifying installation directories using a new appsTier base directory path. A new health checker has been added to validate a target environment's configuration.

  • PostgreSQL: Support has been added for PostgreSQL 15.0 on RHEL 9.0 and Azure Flexible Server for PostgreSQL 14.0. The source sizing calculation has also been updated to represent the correct database size accurately.

  • SQL Server: Support is now available for SQL Server 2016 on Windows Server Core 2016, SQL Server 2019 on Windows Server Core 2019, and SQL Server 2022 on Windows Server Core 2022. Additionally, support has been added to all SQL Server Developer editions for the versions in support.
