Delphix Continues Hyper Growth in 2012
Share
MENLO PARK, CA, Feb 19, 2013 -- Today, Delphix announced significant momentum in 2012, resulting in rapid sales and headcount growth as well as major new partnerships. Sales growth in 2012 increased well over 200 percent, driven by large transactions by Fortune 500 customers, including Clorox, DirecTV, Fidelity, and Molina Healthcare, as well as large expansion deals at existing customers.
"Last year we saw strong adoption of our Agile Data Platform from both new and existing customers," said Jedidiah Yueh, Delphix CEO. "Public and private organizations are seeing significant return from deploying Delphix, with customers delivering application and database projects up to 50 percent ahead of schedule."
Expansion to Microsoft Customers
With the release of Delphix 3.0 in 2012, organizations are able to accelerate the delivery of applications running on Microsoft SQL Server databases, in addition to most configurations and versions of Oracle databases. According to Gartner Group, Oracle and Microsoft together hold two-thirds of the total market share for relational database software. In 2012, Delphix added capabilities to virtualize the data in databases from both vendors.
Major New Partnerships
Delphix also recently announced that its Agile Data Platform is now part of the SAP Endorsed Business Solutions program, which includes certification by SAP of compatibility between Delphix and SAP products. Existing Delphix customers, such as Procter & Gamble and KLA-Tencor, already use Delphix to cut the time, complexity and cost of SAP projects. Customers using Delphix are able to realize value from SAP solutions more quickly than when using physical database infrastructure alone.
In 2012, Delphix also entered into a strategic partnership with In-Q-Tel, the independent strategic investment firm that identifies innovative technology solutions to support the missions of the U.S. Intelligence Community. The agreement will enable Delphix to develop database management and virtualization solutions that will assist the U.S. Intelligence Community in improving data access and availability.
New Funding
The company also closed $25 million in funding in 2012, with JAFCO, Summit Partners and Battery Ventures joining existing investors Greylock and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Delphix is using this funding to expand both sales and product operations in North America, EMEA, and Asia.
Big Data Market
The big data market is forecasted to grow more than 32 percent annually, to $23.8 billion in 2016, according to IDC.(1) The relational database software market is already larger than $24 billion annually, according to Gartner Group. Delphix sits at the crossroads of these markets and is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this opportunity by helping customers manage their data growth and data processing needs.
About Delphix Delphix enables agile data, transforming the economics of database and application management.
